{"id":1279,"date":"2021-03-11T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-11T01:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mcmmediahub.aus.edu\/?p=1279"},"modified":"2021-05-18T10:49:19","modified_gmt":"2021-05-18T06:49:19","slug":"unique-facility-for-young-readers-at-sharjah-public-library","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mcmmediahub.aus.edu\/index.php\/2021\/03\/11\/unique-facility-for-young-readers-at-sharjah-public-library\/","title":{"rendered":"Unique Facility for Young Readers at Sharjah Public Library"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1Sn01PJryd3lBlYkseDAFl40d6dVa-rGf\/preview\" width=\"720\" height=\"394\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Journalism student Sarah Al Saeid reports on Sharjah Public Library initiative for children.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By: Sarah Al Saeid&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SHARJAH \u2013 Under the theme of \u201cmy family reads\u201d during the United Arab Emirates\u2019 reading month, Sharjah Public Library is welcoming guests to the children\u2019s section.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The children\u2019s section includes an ample collection of books from 16 genres, ranging from arts and encyclopaedias to science fiction and religion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The children\u2019s section features a colorful interior that includes desks, a playhouse and classic wooden toys.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The age-appropriate library materials are constantly being updated.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guests are welcome in the children\u2019s section for free. However, for placing holds and borrowing books, a standard membership of AED 50 applies to kids up to 11.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children under eight are not allowed in without a guardian.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To celebrate the UAE\u2019s reading month, the library is offering a free annual membership until the end of March.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Director of Sharjah Public Library Eman Bushulaibi said, \u201cthe new initiatives stem from SPL\u2019s mission to instill a love of reading among all age groups.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUltimately, we aim to help our communities to transform reading into a daily habit,\u201d she added.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Journalism student Sarah Al Saeid reports on Sharjah Public Library initiative for children.
