{"id":1288,"date":"2021-03-16T11:52:12","date_gmt":"2021-03-16T07:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mcmmediahub.aus.edu\/?p=1288"},"modified":"2021-03-18T10:54:45","modified_gmt":"2021-03-18T06:54:45","slug":"arabic-music-ensemble-readies-mid-may-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mcmmediahub.aus.edu\/index.php\/2021\/03\/16\/arabic-music-ensemble-readies-mid-may-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Arabic Music Ensemble readies mid-May event"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Abdul Nauman<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH \u2013 The American University of Sharjah Performing Arts Program will host an online choir event showcasing the abilities of the Arabic Music Ensemble (AME) and a selection of private voice students in the Spring Virtual Music Concert premiering in mid-May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Arabic Music Ensemble repertoire is a combination of several different choir, advanced and individual pieces along with a selection of instrumental&nbsp;pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choir conductor and director of the AME, Dr. Albert Agha, said this spring semester has seen the highest turnout thus far with 27 members hailing from several different ethnicities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The choral pieces will be recorded individually by each student following a silent click track or conduction video and then layered on voice by voice until a cohesive song is made.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event will go live on the Performing Arts Program\u2019s YouTube channel in mid-May and is free to watch for everyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Abdul Nauman UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH \u2013 The American University of Sharjah Performing Arts Program will host an online choir event showcasing the abilities of the Arabic Music Ensemble (AME) and a selection of private voice students in the Spring Virtual Music Concert premiering in mid-May.
