{"id":1503,"date":"2021-04-21T13:28:23","date_gmt":"2021-04-21T09:28:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mcmmediahub.aus.edu\/?p=1503"},"modified":"2021-04-25T05:05:59","modified_gmt":"2021-04-25T01:05:59","slug":"psychology-club-panel-to-address-mens-mental-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mcmmediahub.aus.edu\/index.php\/2021\/04\/21\/psychology-club-panel-to-address-mens-mental-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Psychology Club panel to address men&#8217;s mental health"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Neimat Elkarib<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH \u2013 American University of Sharjah\u2019s Psychology Club agreed Monday to host a virtual panel discussion on the importance of men\u2019s mental health.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a meeting held online, the organizing team emphasized the importance of having male speakers at the event to encourage others to speak out against the stigma of mental health.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis should be our biggest event of the semester,\u201d noted club President Filipa Anastasova.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The board members concurred that the event should be held on the first week of May before the onset of final examinations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Noting that most club events are scheduled for 5 p.m., Executive Assistant Janel Barreto expressed concern regarding the timing of the virtual session given the current holy month of Ramadan.
