UNIVERSITY CITY \u2013 The American University of Sharjah announced in an email on March 18 the closure of its library building for deep cleaning in compliance with ministry directives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Librarians will not have access to the print collection from March 20 to April 5, University Librarian Kara Jones wrote in the email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although online resources and support services remain available, physical book retrieval services will be suspended until further notice, she wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Should students need printed books, they must collect them before 5 p.m. on March 19, Jones added.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the email, Jones attached links to a video and a pdf guide explaining how to request a book for collection on the library website.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFrom the Library website, find available<\/em> items listed in WorldCat and request a book by using the \u2018Place hold\u2019 button,\u201d she wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Staff will retrieve the book from the shelves and place it on hold for pick-up at the circulation desk in the library, Jones added.
