SHARJAH \u2013 The American University of Sharjah Student Economics Association and the International Studies Student Association hosted a virtual panel event titled \u201cEconomic and Political Impacts of COVID-19\u201d on April 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event shed light on the effects of COVID-19 on economies and policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Four AUS professors led the discussion and presented the topic through different lenses and approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Politics Professor Dr. Giacomo Chiozza discussed the topic from an international politics angle with a focus on international law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interim Head of the Economics Department Dr. Javed Younas elaborated on the economic aspects of the topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
History professor Dr. Sara Farhan underscored the political economy of medicine from a historical lens while contextualizing the current crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor John Katsos addressed the legal aspects associated with the crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
