{"id":4119,"date":"2023-02-23T09:43:30","date_gmt":"2023-02-23T05:43:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mcmhub.aus.edu\/?p=4119"},"modified":"2023-03-07T12:02:25","modified_gmt":"2023-03-07T08:02:25","slug":"genome-program-comes-to-campus-feb-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mcmmediahub.aus.edu\/index.php\/2023\/02\/23\/genome-program-comes-to-campus-feb-27\/","title":{"rendered":"Genome Program comes to campus Feb. 27"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Meera Shaheen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH \u2013 Organizers are encouraging United Arab Emirates nationals to participate in the upcoming UAE Genome Program at the American University of Sharjah, and have a sample of their blood taken in order to identify different genetic diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Emirati Cultural Club is hosting the event, in collaboration with G42 Health Care, at the Student Center Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aisha Ali, AUS\u2019s community services and outreach manager, said the program\u2019s purpose is to create a healthier Emirati society by turning the findings of genetic analysis into effective medical treatment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ali added that \u201cthe program has been circulating around all universities in the country and in many government clinics.
