UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH \u2014 American University of Sharjah\u2019s student clubs and organizations would benefit from having high-quality photographic records of their activities, the Photography Club president said Oct. 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an interview, Ahmed Nour said documenting club activities would help ensure their work can be praised and be seen. Many student organizations make tremendous efforts, he said, but it often goes unnoticed since it\u2019s \u201cnot documented the right way.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nour said he hopes the Photography Club can fill this gap, highlighting the work student groups do, and showing how successful their events are. He said his plan is for his club to collaborate closely with others, while also arranging its own events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Nour, he hopes by the end of the academic year to install \u201chigh-quality photography\u201d across campus events to provide \u201cgood records of the success of its clubs’ achievements.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Secondly,\u201d he added, \u201cI want to create a platform for new photographers to join us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upcoming workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n According to Nour, he intends to host two photography workshops on professional camera use and mobile photography. He also wants the club to create a subcommittee of its members who will \u201cpost their photography on our platforms so that way people will be able to get exclusive news of the events.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n While he acknowledged that \u201cwe can\u2019t rush the process as it takes time,\u201d the club recently covered events such as Pinkfest<\/em>, Saudi National Day and DaasTani Nights<\/em>, the last being a gathering organized by the Pakistani and Indian cultural clubs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe are one of the lucky clubs that get many collaboration opportunities,\u201d Nour said. \u201cWe hope that we keep maintaining the good relations with other clubs and share the success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nour said he invites anyone interested in photography to join and to tag the group in a photo on social media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The club currently has 11 members divided into three groups with various responsibilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Aleen Anderias UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH \u2014 American University of Sharjah\u2019s student clubs and organizations would benefit from having high-quality photographic records of their activities, the Photography Club president said Oct. 17.
