{"id":4967,"date":"2024-03-27T08:34:06","date_gmt":"2024-03-27T04:34:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mcmmediahub.aus.edu\/?p=4967"},"modified":"2024-04-04T04:35:27","modified_gmt":"2024-04-04T00:35:27","slug":"muwaileh-suburb-council-opens-food-booths-for-ramadan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mcmmediahub.aus.edu\/index.php\/2024\/03\/27\/muwaileh-suburb-council-opens-food-booths-for-ramadan\/","title":{"rendered":"Muwaileh Suburb Council opens food booths for Ramadan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Shaikha Almaazmi<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SHARJAH\u2014Muwaileh Suburb Council has opened booths and invited licensed vendors, including families and small businesses, to sell food during Ramadan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The booths are placed in Alnouf town near the Muwaileh Suburb Council building and are open from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily for people to buy food for <em>futoor<\/em>, the meal after <em>Maghreb<\/em>, and <em>suhoor<\/em>, the meal before <em>Fajr<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All vendors must have a license from the Department of Economic Development to be able to trade. Many of them sell traditional foods, mostly eaten during the holy month, such as <em>chami<\/em>, <em>thereed<\/em>, <em>marquqa<\/em>, <em>harees<\/em>, and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A section of the area is dedicated to making fresh foods like <em>luqaimat<\/em>, an Arabic sweet dumpling, and <em>reqaq<\/em>, a thin crunchy bread.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201ciftar cannon,\u201d is also part of the place; it is one of the oldest Ramadan traditions.
