The program, one of several de-stressing library initiatives, is only available during finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe got the idea to host this program after attending a conference presentation by a U.S. librarian in Sharjah,\u201d said Christine Furno, the engagement and outreach librarian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Furno, the program began in Fall 2023 and the Access Services Team noted 41 students borrowing plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHaving a plant close by while I studied made me feel more focused and calm,\u201d said Rabisa Khan, an AUS student.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sabah Zaheer UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH \u2014 American University of Sharjah students stressed by finals can borrow a plant \u201cstudy buddy\u201d from the library as part of a program running from May 7-25.
