UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH–The American University of Sharjah Student Council launched a new \u201cGolf Cart Taxi\u201d initiative to help students travel between campus buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The service initiated after students complained about the long walks between buildings in the heat. The Student Council President, Qusai Al-Tah, collaborated with the Office of Student Experience to implement the service across the main plaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe live in a country where it\u2019s very hot to commute between buildings,\u201d Al-Tah said. \u201cOur goal was to tackle that problem and make campus life more convenient for students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The council president added that they expanded from one to two carts after seeing increasing demand. \u201cThis shows students that their voices are heard,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Razan Hany, a junior computer science student, said \u201cIt really helps in the heat.\u201d She added that the taxi makes several stops at different buildings, picking up students along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Al-Tah, the initiative serves around 200 to 300 students daily, reflecting the growing reliance on the service among students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
