Students said the event offered a fun way to escape from reality while exploring new technology, though opinions on its realism varied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVR makes you feel like you\u2019ve entered a completely different world,\u201d said Vismay Nair, one of the attendees. \u201cIt&#8217;s interesting, but it doesn\u2019t feel like real life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other participants said that the sense of immersion depends on focus and surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVR feels realistic if you let yourself get immersed,\u201d said Rashaad Hasan, who tried multiple VR games at the event. \u201cWhen you focus on sights and sounds, it tricks your brain, but any outside noise can break the illusion.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By: Layan Alwan Students at the American University of Sharjah experienced the future of gaming through virtual reality during the VR Game Fest on Oct.13.
