UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – American University of Sharjah’s Performing Arts Program will hold a virtual piano recital in mid-April featuring Disney movie themes played by the applied lessons students.
During an interview conducted on Feb. 28, performing arts professor Natalia Tykhonova explained her plan to release an online virtual piano concert.
Organized by the AUS Performing Arts Program, the concert will showcase the applied piano students’ abilities; however, it will not be including applied voice students.
The piano students will be playing mostly Disney movie songs, keeping with the theme of the Spring semester.
Tykhonova said that she prefers that students play in person to train students for future live concerts. However, the pandemic is restricting face-to-face classes as well as live performances.
The recital will air on the Performing Arts Program’s YouTube channel before April 13.
