UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – American University of Sharjah students are required to obtain a QR code to attend final exams on campus, administrators announced in a July 7 email.

The email, from the office of the vice provost for undergraduate affairs, said that in order to obtain the code, they must complete the Covid-19 declaration form and proof of either an official vaccination card or a negative PCR test.

The campus has been closed since March 8, 2020, with limited access for final examinations after the Spring semester.

All Summer 2021 exams are to be held on Wednesday and Thursday July 14-15, with makeups on Saturday, July 17.

The QR codes will be sent out on Tuesday, July 13. Students must carry a device to access the code which will be scanned at the entrance of the academic building and will allow entry for their tests.

They should bring:

  • AUS ID
  • A fully charged laptop
  • Mobile phone
  • Pens, pencil, calculator
  • A bottle of water

To comply with Ministry of Health and Education guidelines, students must maintain social distancing, wear face masks, and follow signs showing entrance and exit points and regulating movement within each building. They should also expect to have their temperature checked at building entrances.

After they have finished their exam, students should not congregate outside the exam room and are advised to leave campus within one hour. If they have another exam, they may stay in designated areas.
