UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The behind-the-scenes process of student activity events at the American University of Sharjah starts with an idea, said Executive Director of Student Experience Dr. Lisa Moscaritolo in a Mass Communication podcast on March 19.
Once a student or student-led organization pitches an idea, the Office of Student Affairs’ staff helps them develop and execute it, she said.
Moscaritolo recommended student organizations come up with ideas that fulfill the clubs’ mission, which is to help provide what she called “the best experience possible.”
Moscaritolo said she believes that students involved in activities gain the skills to become more successful and confident.
“I think it’s really important that we work together to make the community as strong as possible, and that is really what is special about AUS: The experience that we offer,” said Moscaritolo.
Additionally, OSA often meets with the Student Council to brainstorm ideas to enhance the student experience.
“We can’t do it without students. There are more students than us,” she added.
