UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – Seventy University City employees who work on the American University of Sharjah campus attended a special iftar, aimed to build a sense of community, arranged by the Community Services and Outreach Office on Tuesday.
According to Community Services and Outreach Manager Aisha Ali, organizing the iftar, held at the Student Center from 6-7:30 p.m., was an important way of giving back to others.
Ali said it helped increase the feeling of shared responsibility and encouraged the 27 student volunteers to appreciate the contribution of the workers to society.
“The Community Services and Outreach Team will continue to organize the charity iftar each year during Ramadan and encourage the students to give back to the community and be part of social responsibility,” Ali said.
She added there will be iftars for orphans and people with special needs in the future.
