UNIVERSITY CITY– Students who left the American University of Sharjah’s dormitories are advised not to come back to their residential halls until further notice, said Vice Provost for Student Life Lisa Moscaritolo in a Tuesday email.

Moscaritolo wrote that AUS did not yet receive a confirmation from the United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Education regarding “the resumption of face-to-face classes.”

Senior Manager of Student Residential Life Issam Zaarob wrote in a March 11 email that students should contact their dormitory supervisors if they are feeling unwell or have been in physical contact with anyone who has coronavirus.

The University Health Center will remain open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, Zaarob said.

“In the case of treatment required after opening hours, an on-call nurse will be available,” Zaarob added.

Safety precautions resulted in the suspension of classes in all institutions across the country from

March 8 to April 5.
