UNIVERSITY CITY – The American University of Sharjah’s Psychology Program and Department of International Studies, in a Sunday email encouraged students to join the virtual panel that will review mental wellbeing during COVID-19.
The panel will take place on April 29 from 4-5 p.m. Attendees can join the lecture on Blackboard Collaborate.
Associate Professor Angela Maitner wrote that the event will feature short presentations, discussions, and a list of support resources available to university students.
This panel is in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs, AUS Counseling Services, Academic Support Center, and College of Arts and Sciences, Maitner added.
Maitner will present a segment under the title, “Psychological Wellbeing During the COVID-19 Pandemic: How are we doing?”
Other Psychology faculty members will be joining Maitner in tackling problems students may face during the coronavirus outbreak.
The discussion will also address the topics of “Resilience and Post-Traumatic Growth: Validating the Struggle and Providing Hope,” and “Anxiety Management and Self-Care: Mental and Behavioral Strategies,” Maitner said.
