Sharjah’s First Outdoor Mall Welcomes Visitors by Apoorva Dudani
SHARJAH – Zawaya Walk, the first outdoor mall with shops and restaurants in the heart of Sharjah, is now open to visitors.
The commercial center’s prime location near University City Road in Al Shahba has recently attracted students from schools and universities nearby for its peaceful environment. The 50,000-square-meter mall allows visitors to access terraces that overlook scenic fountains, a lake and bridges.
Guests at the tree-filled suburban complex are required to adhere to COVID-19 precautionary measures and wear a mask at all times. According to Zawaya Walk’s official Instagram page, the mall can accommodate up to 400 parked cars.
“This is the perfect place to be in winters. I love that I can sit in the newly opened restaurants and study and attend online classes outdoors,” said Zarlish Kamil, a student at the American University of Sharjah.
According to Zawaya Walk’s official Instagram page, families and researchers commonly visit the mall for its public recreational and children’s entertainment facilities.
The center opens at 10 a.m. from Saturdays to Thursdays and at 2 p.m. on Fridays. It closes at 11 p.m. on all days.
