DUBAI – American University of Sharjah students commuting from Dubai on Thursday morning were delayed by an 8 a.m. accident on the E311 highway when a car flipped over.
The accident occurred about 10 km from the Mirdif City Center, causing delayed traffic. The car hit a metal barrier and flipped over multiple times, causing parts of the gray sedan to be strewn across several lanes.
Another AUS commuter, Donia Ibrahim, who saw the accident, said traffic was stalled enough for pedestrians to cross the multi-lane highway.
Police arrived at the scene, where a clearly shaken man was seated on the ground with his hands over his eyes.
