UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The Sharjah International Government Communication Forum honored American University of Sharjah’s Dr. Mohammad Ayish on Sept. 30 for giving two presentations during the event.
Ayish, who is head of the Department of Mass Communication and a member of the academic committee at the Government Communication Forum, presented papers and workshops on data analytics, and the ethical and professional values that make up government communications.
“We live in the age of big data, and we have to be able to engage with it successfully. It is not a luxury; it is a necessity here,” said Ayish, referring to the value of data analytics in today’s world, specifically in mass communication.
Ayish said that media education is all about connecting with the industry and community.
“It was really nice to see faculty and students participate and attend the forum. This is very important for the development of our mass communication department here,” said Ayish, referring to the program at AUS.
