Sharjah, UAE: The American University of Sharjah’s Student Council started preparation for an “Alice in Wonderland” themed carnival on Oct. 19.

“The activities mainly include performances and entertainment and games such as an orbiter game, a maze, a wipe out game, a chess organize and we also have the board game cafe,” said Layan Al Sourani, the president of AUS Student Council.

The Student Council coordinated with different clothing and food vendors like Buffalo Wild Wings, Laffah, The28letters and Plumeria Arts to attend the event.

Bilal Al Haj, the Vice-President of AUS Student Council, said that working with 17 people is exhausting.

“I hope that we can execute it correctly and I hope that our vision can be achieved,” said Al Haj.

The Student Council prepared to welcome more than 800 people at the carnival.

Al Sourani added, “this event mainly gives the students a chance to let loose and go away from academic life and take a break; it also allows all the organizations in the university to excel creatively.”
