SHARJAH – Sharjah police and Al Zahia City Center security officers evacuated the mall in minutes after alarms rang at 10 a.m. Monday.
Mall security said only that an “incident” had occurred inside the building and declined to comment further.
Sharjah police arrived soon after the alarms rang and organized the crowd of about 100 people outside the mall.
Mall security distributed water among the evacuees during their wait. They let the crowd back in after about 20 minutes.
