DUBAI – The American University of Sharjah’s football team took third place in the second American University in Dubai International Tournament from March 3-5.
The event, held at AUD, saw the AUS team play five games, winning three, drawing one, and losing one.
In the opening match of the tournament, AUS defeated Lebanese American University 2-0.
The game between AUS and the home team, AUD, was played in front of a packed stadium and ended in a 1-1 draw.
AUS faced Rochester Institute of Technology of Dubai in the third game and defeated them 1-0.
But AUD did not allow AUS to reach the final by defeating them 1-0 in the semifinals. By subsequently defeating RIT 3-0, AUS earned a third-place finish.
