UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – About 40 American University of Sharjah students organized a special trip for orphaned kids on Nov. 3.
Community Service and Outreach Coordinator Amawi El Khalifa said the underprivileged children arrived at AUS at approximately 9 a.m., and their trip started with a Flag Day celebration at City Centre Al Zahia.
At the cinema the group watched and “highly enjoyed” an animation movie, followed by an “exciting” round of arcade games at Magic Planet, she added.
El Khalifa said that AUS volunteers’ “favorite part” of the trip was purchasing gifts for the children. For the latter, she described receiving the gifts, along with fun they had exploring the mall, as their “most cherished experience.”
“Supporting those in need is not merely a duty,” said El Khalifa. “It presents a privilege and a chance for personal growth and fulfillment.”
