UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The American University of Sharjah will reschedule late-day Wednesday classes to Sunday mornings during the Holy Month of Ramadan, according to a Feb. 12 email.
The statement from the Office of the Provost and Chief Academic Officer announced that classes currently scheduled between 5-9 p.m. on Wednesdays (March 13, 20 and 27) will move to 8 a.m. to noon on Sundays (March 10, 17 and 24). This is to prevent conflict with Iftar timings.
The university’s revised Academic Calendar for 2023-24 included Sunday morning timings to help in rescheduling of late-day classes during the Holy Month.
According to various media sources, Ramadan is expected to start on or about March 10 or 11.
