UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The Society of Cybersecurity at the American University of Sharjah held an event Feb. 8, called “The Art of Digital Intrusion: Advanced Cybersecurity Tactics,” to expose students to the field of cybersecurity.

The hands-on workshop was a beginner-friendly event which organizers said was meant to spread awareness about cyber threats. The session taught students about methods hackers can use to penetrate a web server to collect data, hack into a user’s ID and password, and cause some form of disturbance on the web.

Jaizal Ali, the director and chief operating officer of RedTeam Academy, was the presenter of the event.

The session utilized various programs such as Kali Linux (a tool to simulate the attacker) and VulnHub ColdBox (a tool to simulate the victim).
