UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – With its numbers reduced by finals, a smaller-than-expected but still enthusiastic group of Astronomy Club members celebrated their last event of the year at the American University of Sharjah’s Student Centre Atrium April 30.
The event, “Horizon,” from 5 to 9 p.m. drew about 20 students for activities including karaoke, a Just Dance session, board games and a movie screening. Refreshments included pizza.
President and Vice President Hafsa Hamid and Samir Mehmood oversaw the activities aided by a past club vice-president, Rahma Zuhair, who did live portraits of students.
Past events this semester include a star-gazing night at Al Qudra Desert held on Feb. 24 and an Astrophotography competition that was open for submissions from March 17 to April 14.
