AJMAN- The Global Village in Dubai is hosting celebrations in line with the holy month of Ramadan for the first time in years by setting up a Majlis.
The Majlis of the World is a part of the Ramadan nights program that introduces families to traditional and cultural Ramadan activities.
The Majlis is a reservation-only area offering multiple board games, as well as classic Ramadan treats.
The Majlis also allows visitors to buy food from the 200 restaurants and kiosks across Global Village.
The Majlis features live performances such as the Egyptian Tanoura show, Musaharati, Hakawati or the storyteller, Oud and Qanun players and a fireworks’ show on Thursdays and Fridays.
Another part of the celebration includes the traditional Ramadan cannon on the main stage fired each day, signaling the Maghrib prayer and the start of iftar.
The Global Village extended its opening hours from 6 p.m. – 2 a.m. to accommodate iftar and suhoor.
The Global Village’s Silver Jubilee Season ends on May 2.
