UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The American University of Sharjah’s recently opened service gate is only for use by contractors and deliveries, the AUS administration reminded campus residents in a July 1 email.

The gate is on the west side of campus, close to the Complete Sustainable Communities building, near the university’s Sports Complex.

In the email, Chief of Protocol and Security Saeed M. Al Shamsi informed residents that the service gate is meant to keep trucks away from the regular entrances during the day. He noted that since the service gate went into operation, truck drivers have not been allowed to use the AUS Main Gate, off University City Road, or the Airport Gate, off Al Dhaid Road.

He added that different entry protocols have been implemented for each gate, and are meant to ensure deliveries and contractor services do not create inconvenience for AUS campus residents and community members.
