UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH — The American University of Sharjah (AUS) announced on March 29 that it will continue remote operations until further notice.
According to an email from Chancellor Tod Laursen, faculty and staff should work from home, and students are to attend classes remotely as scheduled. Campus access is restricted, and those with access passes for labs or special facilities should reconfirm permission with their supervisors.
Laursen asked faculty and staff remaining on campus to complete an online survey to help the university plan essential services and support. He wrote that AUS is monitoring regional developments and local weather in coordination with authorities.
Laursen thanked faculty, staff and students for their “cooperation and flexibility,” stressing that “AUS’s highest priority is the safety and well‑being of our community.”
