SHARJAH, UAE: The Palestinian Cultural Club gathered students for a barbecue night in Creek Park on Nov. 26 to de-stress before finals week.
“This event was made for students to take a break from their academic pressures before their upcoming finals,” said Renad Khleif, the president of the PCC.
Students started the event by watching a World Cup match and continued to prepare food and play games. They also danced the traditional Dabke to celebrate their culture.
Students got to know each other and made new friends.
Khleif said, “my expectations for this event were reached and more, we didn’t expect that many people to show up. It was really nice seeing everyone blend in, enjoy the weather and socialize.”
Around 90 to 100 students attended the event.
“Today was a really nice day. I would definitely repeat this experience with the Palestinian Cultural Club,” said Hana Sabri, a student at the American University of Sharjah.
