UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – Emiratis who are part of the American University of Sharjah community can donate blood Feb. 27 as part of a government-sponsored research project, Genome, working to study common Emirati diseases and disorders.
The Emirati Cultural Club, along with multiple sponsors, is hosting the session, one of three major upcoming spring 2023 semester events the club discussed when it met on campus Jan. 6.
The other two were the Feb. 13-14 Club Fair, which highlights the campus’s student-run organizations; and Global Day, a series of culturally themed events and performances scheduled for March 9-10.
Laila Alhashimi, the media coordinator of the ECC, said “the Genome event is going to be the biggest but we are also so excited for Global Day.”
The ECC has been meeting for two hours every week to plan events.
