UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – American University of Sharjah is hosting an AI week to inaugurate the launch of the AUS AI Hub.

Vice Provost Dr. James Griffin of the Office of Undergraduate Affairs and Instruction announced the launch of the AI Hub on the event’s first day, April 22.

He said, “The AI Hub allows for faculty engagement on all issues related to AI in teaching and learning, regardless of prior knowledge about AI.”

The main objective of the AI Hub, he added, is to explore in what ways AI can be used within the teaching and learning environment to benefit students and professors.

Dr. David Santandreu, the acting director and head educational program development for Mohamed bin Zayed University of AI, was the keynote speaker for the first day. His talk focused on whether GenAI should be ignored or embraced.

The AI week sessions are scheduled from 3:30-5:30 p.m. daily until April 25.
