Jumeirah school wins Physics competition

UNIVERSITY CITY — Jumeirah English Speaking School won first place in the physics-based project competition that was part of the FUNtastic FZX 2020 event held at the American University of Sharjah on Feb. 27.

Thirty-seven projects submitted by participating schools competed for the top award.

Dawha School and Al Maarifa International Private School placed second.

Over 500 high school students from 21 schools around the UAE took part in the event.

The attendees had the chance to see demonstrations of physics principles and their wide application in their daily lives and enjoy hands-on activities. 

The Sixth AUS Physics Open Day was organized by the Office of Enrollment Management in collaboration with the Department of Physics. 

The event was held as part of the AUS Sharakah program and was sponsored by Lockheed Martin.
