UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – American University of Sharjah’s library has provided new services, resources, and support to enhance students’ studying experience safely during fall 2020 online semester.
According to an email from AUS librarian Christine Furno, new services include Scan and Send, which allows students to request scans of library print materials in compliance with copyright restrictions.
Another service, Click and Post, allows them to request General Collection materials that can be directly delivered within the UAE.
Students residing on campus this semester can email [email protected] for one-day reserve requests.
On-campus residents can use the Click and Collect service to select print materials for delivery to their campus home (applicable to faculty and staff only), while students can collect their print requests from the library building, Sunday-Thursday between noon and 2 p.m.
According to Furno, the service is contact-less. “Protocols are currently in place to assure that all AUS community members remain safe,” Furno stated.
When students want to return library materials, two book drops are available: one at the Campus Service Gate and one outside the library building, engineering building side.
