DUBAI – Jameel Arts Center, a contemporary art institution at Jaddaf Waterfront Sculpture Park, hosted the Ramadan Souk on Friday.
The Souk ended a series of free nighttime Ramadan-themed events held by the Center since April 16.
The market was open to all from 9 p.m. to midnight and offered outdoor shopping options from local businesses selling vintage, upcycled and preloved apparel and accessories, baked goods and gifts for Ramadan and Eid.
Limited-capacity workshops and demos spanned inside the Center and across the waterfront, enabling participants to watch and learn skills such as illustration and painting custom portraits.
Additionally, two stargazing and sky mapping sessions took place on the roof of the Center, where attendees observed the moon and its craters up-close, captured celestial objects through a telescope and learned how to identify constellations.
The event also offered free bilingual guided tours of various art galleries and exhibitions in the Center and allowed visitors to browse the Jameel Library and the Art Jameel Shop.
The market hosted food vendors selling sweet and savory snacks and refreshments with designated picnic areas.
