UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – Students will return to the American University of Sharjah in large numbers for the first time since March 8 of last year when final exams begin Tuesday.

UAE universities are following Ministry of Education guidelines and are requiring final exams on campus, although those who cannot attend for personal or medical reasons can file for an exemption and do the exam(s) from home.

Each student will find final exam times and locations posted on their iLearn page. The Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs last week sent students a guide on Covid protocols to follow when returning to campus.

All exams will take place between May 25 and June 5; they are scheduled in four daily time slots: 8-10 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 2-4 p.m., and 5-7 p.m.

To get the QR code needed to enter campus, students must complete a COVID Declaration form at https://pulse.aus.edu/form/covid-19-. They should attach proof of vaccination or of a recent negative PCR test when submitting the form.

Once the form is accepted by the University Health Services, students will be allowed to enter campus.

According to the university, if the exam is computer based then each student should bring their own laptop, and if it is paper based then they should bring a pencil or a pen.

Students will not be allowed access to campus without a valid QR code and an AUS student ID or Emirates ID.
