SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates – Break Point restaurant in the American University of Sharjah has reopened its doors from Dec. 5 after being closed for over a year following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The restaurant is located on the first floor of the Student Center in the university campus.

Gaurav Gurnani, a sophomore at the university, said the restaurant offers good portions at an economical price.

“I do not have to worry about spending a lot of money on food and I can stick to my monthly budget,” he added.

The restaurant has in person dining inside the restaurant and high-top tables and couches placed within the Student Center. It also has take-away and delivery options within University City.

“Break Point is a good addition to the food court within campus as it provides a wide range of cuisines and I do not have to always order food online,” said Areeba Khan, a second-year student staying in the dorms.

Jackie Lou Lim, supervisor at Break Point, said that they received an overwhelming response from students on the reopening day.

“I always heard seniors talk about how good Break Point was and when I tried their dishes it met my expectations,” said Sinchana Hebbar, sophomore at AUS.

The opening hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
