UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The Egyptian Cultural Club welcomed students back for
a new semester at the American University of Sharjah on Jan. 24 by distributing traditional food and hosting interactive activities.

The event, part of AUS’s “Week of Welcome,” took place in the Student Center and
approximately 65 students attended. The board members provided the attendees with the
traditional dish Koshary and snacks like Mandolin chocolate and Asaleya. They also served
Karkade (iced hibiscus tea) and pomegranate juice. Attendees had the option to play common board games or paint ceramic structures.

Egyptian songs such as Helwa Ya Baladi (My Beautiful Country) by Dalida and El Bakht
(The Luck) by Wegz played during the event.

Media Coordinator Heba Al Zanaty distributed posters that encouraged students to participate in the club’s Global Day performance.
