UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – Through an agreement with the Korea Foundation, the American University of Sharjah is offering Korean language courses in Fall Semester 2023.

The Korea Foundation is a non-profit organization located in South Korea that supports and conveys Korean language and culture.

It will assist AUS’s College of Arts and Sciences when it starts offering two elementary Korean language sections in the fall of 2023. Two intermediate Korean language sections will follow in the fall of 2024. According to the agreement, the Korea Foundation will help AUS find a visiting faculty member to teach these courses.

In a statement on the AUS website, CAS Dean Mahmoud Anabtawi said “Language learning is an essential component of a well-rounded education. By adding Korean language courses, we are not only meeting the demands of our students, but also preparing them to be active members of a globalized world.”
