UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – To allow movement of construction materials to the Student Center site, currently undergoing renovation, American University of Sharjah (AUS) will close the road between the building and the West Gazebo for three hours daily from Sept. 12-15.
AUS Facilities made the announcement in an email on Sept. 11, noting that road closures will be from 3:30-6:30 p.m. and provided a contact number for queries.
Student Center renovations began on June 1 and are expected to finish by Dec. 1.
The building is expected to re-open on Jan. 15, a university communique on Sept. 11 said.
To compensate for the loss of access to the Student Center this term, a large tent has been placed on campus near the mosque. Food trucks and kiosks have appeared on campus as substitutes for the center’s restaurants and coffee shops.
