UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH— Flooding caused by heavy rainfall forced the American University of Sharjah to close down from April 16-21, resulting in remote learning and campus outlet closures.
The university sent out warnings of expected severe weather conditions to affect the region on April 16, with resultant postponing of events.
AUS closed all academic buildings, the library, Sports Complex and the community Leisure Centre. The campus Sharjah Co-Op and some food outlets remained open.
