UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The American University of Sharjah will shift all instruction and examinations online starting March 23, AUS announced Wednesday.
The move extends the university’s distance-learning period through April 5.
In a message to the AUS community, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost Dr. Matthias Ruth said instructors will deliver courses and administer assessments using approved online platforms.
They will provide students with guidance on formats, schedules and requirements, according to Ruth.
Students were urged to monitor course communications regularly and to follow instructors’ instructions to remain current with coursework.
Ruth emphasized that clear and timely communication between faculty and students will be essential during the remote period.
On Wednesday, AUS began internal sessions to train faculty in using online teaching and assessment tools.
