UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – A multiple car accident on S131 delayed American University of Sharjah students commuting to classes Tuesday morning
The accident happened about 8 km away from the university, causing complete closure of one of the two lanes. Three cars were involved, in which one sedan crashed into an SUV causing the loss of its exhaust pipe, and creating a rippling effect, hitting another sedan in front.
AUS commuter Kareem Waleed witnessed the accident and said traffic was stalled for nearly 20 minutes before other drivers tried to help.
Police arrived later with a tow truck to clear the cars from the lane, allowing traffic to move again.
