UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The American University of Sharjah women’s basketball team beat Rochester Institute of Technology of Dubai by 11 points in the final of a Ramadan Sports Event at the AUS Sports Complex April 15.
AUS first played against Gulf Medical University, beating them 34-8, advancing them to the final.
Salma Abdelrahim, a freshman on the AUS women’s basketball team, said that “it was nice to finally have an AUS audience because usually we go to other universities to compete.”
She said that she is passionate about basketball and has been playing for a long time.
Abdulrahim added that she is excited for future competitions.
