The Kardashians have been in the public eye for nearly 10 years now. “Keeping up with the Kardashians” is a show that showcases their lifestyle. They first came into the public eye when their father Robert Kardashian represented the OJ Simpson, the football player, who was accused of murdering his wife Nicole Brown Simpson.

Kim Kardashian, arguably the most controversial Kardashian out there, has been inspiring the youth to be “hot and famous.” Kardashian, 35, is now married to Kanye West and is mother to four children. Kardashian has been a bad influence on the youth in many ways, especially when she promotes her extravagant lifestyle. Even former US President Barack Obama called her “a bad influence” for American youth.

Another example is falsely promoting products. In May 2018, Kardashian shared a sponsored Instagram post with her 111 million followers, the majority of which are young. Kardashian was pictured slurping on a Flat Tummy Co “appetite suppressant” lollipop. The Flat Tummy official website states that “the product helps control food intake, cravings, and weight.” In the caption of her post, which has since been taken down, Kardashian described the product as “unreal.” Social media users and celebrities have slammed Kardashian for promoting unhealthy weight loss habits.

The Kardashians, in general, are harming the youth, whether through false advertisements or their unrealistic style of living. The Kardashians are selfish celebrities who have attained fame by hardly doing anything of value.
