UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The IT Service Support Desk, which provides technical support and solutions at the American University of Sharjah, opened a new branch in the university student center in the Fall 2021 semester.

According to the official AUS IT website, the IT service desk is the “central point of contact for all information technology related issues for students, faculty and staff.”

The new branch is easily accessible to students. The IT desk is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday to Thursday and is staffed by student workers.

According to a student worker Ansah Siddiqui, student workers are “the first ones to receive the issue and we are required to troubleshoot and fix the issue.”

She added that student workers refer the issue to their supervisors if the problem is too complex.

The IT desk is available both physically and virtually. Siddiqui said that the AUS community can walk up to the IT desk for support. COVID-19 safety guidelines such as masks and social distancing are followed. IT support is also available through messages or calls.
