SHARJAH – The American University of Sharjah’s International Exchange Office held an information session last Thursday after a three-semester break following the COVID- 19 pandemic.
The IXO is responsible for sending AUS students to universities abroad and receiving international students who want to spend a semester, or year, at AUS.
The IXO also welcomes master’s students and Ph.D. candidates who wish to research their respective fields.
During the pandemic, AUS students were not allowed to go abroad and were asked to stay in the country. With the United Arab Emirates opening its borders, the IXO is back to sending students abroad.
At the IXO stall, students explained the process and opportunities AUS students receive if they decide to study abroad.
In addition, the IXO helps incoming international students in obtaining their Emirates IDs and visas, familiarizing them with the campus and taking them to events.
The head office of the IXO is located in the main building.
The study abroad information sessions are held in different locations. IXO student volunteers were in the New Academic Building and School of Business Administration on Oct. 7.During the month of October, stalls are spread throughout the campus.
