Imperialism has taken numerous shapes and forms throughout human history such as, colonies, settler colonies, protectorates, imperial companies, spheres of influence and, most recently, cultural imperialism through globalization. By observing modern history, we can record a number of examples of the aforementioned forms of imperialism.
