Leila Heller Gallery Presents Iranian Artworks and 3D Sculptures

Sharjah, UAE – Leila Heller Gallery features a collection of Iranian art along with an exhibit by Anton Bakker.

Journalism student Zehra Qureshi reports on Bakker Exhibition in Leila Heller Gallery

Bakker’s work includes 3D sculptures that change form depending on where the observer is standing. The Dutch contemporary also made a physical appearance to demonstrate how his sculptures work in person. The artist’s exhibit ‘Perspectives of Symmetry’ incorporates the use of math and science.

Bakker said that the base of all his structures is from a cubic lens.

He included that all his works feature different patterns found in the cubic lens.

He added, “I like the beauty of symmetry.”

According to Bakker, he made sure that his work demonstrated no open-ended paths.

The artist said he observes others’ perspectives before drawing conclusions on what the sculptures would look like.

Meanwhile, the Iranian works were compiled by art collector Mana Jalalian. The collection features Modern and Contemporary art from well-known Iranian artists.

Some of these artists include Parviz Tanavoli, Mohammed Ehsai, and Farideh Lashai.

The exhibit said that the artworks oppose solidified opinions in art and society.

Jalalian said that art collectors should make art “seen, heard, and understood.”
